Doptelet (avatrombopag) "I was taking Doptelet to build platelets prior to knee replacement surgery. It was doing a great job building my platelet amount. I was prescribed two tablets at once at the same time every day. I was complaining to my friends about not fitting into my clothes and cramping. I felt like I had blown up like a balloon overnight. One of my friends asked me if I’d checked the side effects. It was all there, swelling, rapid weight gain, nose bleeds, shortness of breath, and struggling to breathe after light exertion. Stabbing pain in my brain and headaches. I would still take this drug over an infusion of platelets."
