"I have used Ventolin for years to good effect with just a single puff. No problems. I was recently switched to the generic form, yellow container with an orange cap, and it is truly awful! The spray is very, very weak and ineffective, even with two puffs. It also has a strong chemical taste/odor. I don't even know why they put it on the market. Luckily my doc has switched me back to Ventolin."

"I bought a very good scale and measured the canister before and after dosages. The weights varied by 40%."

"Started with ProAir HFA, which worked well. Kaiser then switched to Ventolin HFA, which also worked well. (I didn't think the Ventolin worked well until Kaiser then switched to the generic version of Proventil HFA.) It is far from being a reliable product. It rarely delivers the medication effectively. Often, it dispenses very small amounts, and sometimes, medication needs to be delivered. There is no consistency. I clean it often, and even that does not help. I was able to use one puff/spray with the others, but I usually have to use two puffs/sprays with this. Occasionally, even more, because it is not dispensing or working correctly. There is also a waste of product when I frequently have to check to see if it is working at all."
