Other Comments

Minocycline topical microspheres are approved as an adjunct to scaling and root planing procedures for reduction of pocket depth in patients with adult periodontitis.

Minocycline topical should be dispensed to and administered by an oral health care professional.

The use of minocycline topical microspheres in an acutely abscessed periodontal pocket has not been studied and is not recommended.

Use minocycline topical microspheres with caution in patients predisposed to oral candidiasis infections.

Because of the potential for tooth-staining, the use of minocycline topical microspheres in pediatric patients is not recommended.
