Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "It’s an amazing medicine. I’ve tried so many treatments for my psoriasis and they would work only at the beginning, I’ve tried the ointments, the UV lights, the pills and nothing was really good enough for me, plus they had bad side effects. But since I’ve started cosentyx my life got much better , I’m 99% cleared from psoriasis, with only small side effect ( running nose ) which I consider is nothing comparing to previous treatments .. I’m so happy now I feel like I’m a new person just started living my life."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Non-Radiographic Axial Spondyloarthritis "I am a 65 year old white female. I was diagnosed with nonradiographic axial spondyloarthritis two years ago after experiencing both peripheral and axial arthritis symptoms and enthesitis. I was first prescribed Cimzia in 2019 and was on this drug for 9 weeks with slight improvement in my back but then began having worsening of symptoms in my feet, ankles, and hips. After six months off any medication I tried Cosentyx. There was no improvement in my symptoms and in the 11th week (6 shots total) I again experienced a worsening of my symptoms in my SI joints and my feet and ankles, with acute pain from plantar fasciitis and milder Achilles tendonitis. I am waiting for this flare reaction to the drug to subside before trying Enbrel. Hope and pray the third biologic is the charm."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Ankylosing Spondylitis "Severe as for 54 years-bilateral hip replacements 30 years ago-total fusion of spine-Benn, on Remicade for 10 plus years. Doc gave me a 150mg injection of consentyx 1 week post 200 mg Remicade infusion. Stared shaking uncontrollably for an hour followed by chills until early morning. Then the whole body itching and runny nose started followed by hives near the injection site. My eyes were the worst and wouldn't stop itching and I started wheezing with each breath. Took almost 30 days for the symptoms to stop. Told the doc and she thought it was just a cold and wanted to continue cosentryx. Absolutely no way I would take it again. Back to Remicade. Tip-what also helps my AS is doxicyline-100 once per day. Try it."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "Truly a miracle drug for me. 50 yrs old. Had some plaques but not many. One large one on my right ankle. Got strep throat and it literally took over 90% of my body. Developed left hand joint pain and swelling. Got put straight onto Cosentyx (300 mg/2 pens). Been on it for 9 months now and I am entirely clear with zero side effects. It took a solid 3 months before it was entirely gone. But honestly, this particular biologic has been nothing short of a miracle for me."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "I have only had two injections so far, and I can't wait to take the 5 weeks of cosentyx. My joint pain is tremendous. Psoriasis is the same, I'm very hopeful. I will let you folks know after my weeks "

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I found Cosentyx to be very effective. Stubborn lesions on my shins cleared up after a few months which included a weekly loading dose which tapered off to once a month. However , I am very discouraged as I can no longer afford this med as my out of pocket mamimum has almost tripled since last year. So, I had to go off of it. Much to my chagrin, Medicare patients are not eligible for financial assistance! So my psoriasis is back with a vengeance!"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Ankylosing Spondylitis "Stated this drug forAnkylosing spondylitis as in October after other biologics stopped working on 150mg monthly. Very light headed, fatigued joints, sore, tired all the time. I don't think this one has helped at all. I have a review with rheumatoglist on 20th Feb (1st review since starting this biologic) I'm gonna tell him it is no better. I've had AS from 2001 so know by now what works found Enbrel was the best 1 for me till it stopped working"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Psoriasis "Cosentyx has changed my life. I had terrible psoriasis for years. My head was red and every one could see. My knees had it so bad they would bleed. I couldn't wear shorts because it looked so bad and I was humiliated explaining to people what psoriasis was, EVERY TIME. It was really hard on me. I tried everything. I went to many doctors and they all gave me expensive products that barely worked, and only for a short time. As soon as I was put on Cosentyx, my knees were completely cleared, my embarrassing red forehead cleared 100% I have been on it for about a year and haven't had one flair up. I understand it may have different results for everyone, but I was willing to try anything to get rid of the pain and scuffing,I'm so glad I tried this"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Psoriasis "First sign of Guttate psoriasis in my twenties then really nothing again until 40’s. Ten years of individual cortisone shots into about 30 to 50 pencil eraser spots every 6 weeks kept it somewhat at bay. Dermatologist retired, new young guy said no more of that! Embrel, Humira, light treatment of no help. 58 and clear for a year on Cosentyx. My worry is if and when it will quit working."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "After my second loading dose I had an allergic reaction. My face became swollen and I had to go to ER. My lungs felt heavy and was given epipen. I also became nauseous and vomited. While I hope this drug works for others it did not for me!"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I used Enbrel for several years before switching to Humira. Like Enbrel, Humira worked great for a number of years until it's effect started to fade a little. My dermatologist suggested that I give Cimzia a try. After about a month I started to scab up in both ears and both eyes near the tear ducts. I've never had psoriasis in these locations and hoped that it would be temporary and go away. I was prescribed a two other medications to go with the Cosentyx, one for my ears and another for my eyes. Unfortunately after 4 months the ears and eyes have only gotten worse. I've realized that Cosentyx is not for for me. I start Cimzia next week. Really looking forward to looking and feeling normal again."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I am at week 17 and am 100% clear. I had a throat infection with high fever for 3 days at week 12, other than that no side effects. My joints feel tender, but it may be from the reduced swelling making them ‘looser’. Only other drawback is the $$’s for the med. I am still working to get coverage."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "This medication should come with a caution sign all over it! If I could leave a negative rating I would. I lost 50 lbs in 2 months and went into liver failure. I was a skeleton. I couldn't walk or even eat. This drug gave me stomach aches that were so severe, I ended up in the hospital a couple times. It was so hard for me to do anything but I had to force myself if I wanted to survive. I nearly died from this drug and I am only 18 years old. I ended up having Crohns disease as well but my doctor had no idea at the time of this medication. Therefore, the extreme stomach pain and nausea. The smell of food made me throw up. Before this drug I was on Humira, then Enbrel, (then Cosentyx), then Stelera, and finally Cimzia. Now trying Simponi in hopes something will work. I even tried xeljanz and no luck."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "The customer service I experienced trying to obtain the medication through their co-payment assistance program was at best overwhelmingly frustrating! The person that was supposed to be "assisting" with the process kept insisting that I give a non-existent "bin" number from my insurance card. I repeatedly tried to explain that it was not there and the representative just could not seem to believe me. Without the payment assistance the medication will cost me several hundred dollars a month. I almost decided to go ahead and pay out of pocket but reconsidered when the representative informed me that I had no other choice. This is not the only medication on the market for psoriasis and I refuse to support an organization that indicated they have you over a barrel!"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Non-Radiographic Axial Spondyloarthritis "I have psoriatic spondylitis that is now worsening over the last two years to PSA. Cosentyx was the first drug I started on. I found the injection hard to push in without it burning. The biggest things that hit me within a couple days were bone crushing fatigue that had me holding onto furniture and the wall and bed bound by day 4. I ran labs and it tanked my B12 by 400 points within a week. I also have hormone records at the time and my testosterone and thyroid took a nose dive AFTER one dose of this injection. Then the headaches, vision issues, and pain though not as severe as the fatigue. were worrisome. I decided to stop the drug at that point. Any drug that is hitting me in multiple spots that is keeping me from performing my responsibilities is NOT a drug I will continue to inject in myself."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I have psoriasis and I did not have PSA but my doctor said it was time to start something else because creams and ointments were no longer working. I have good insurance and my doctor started me on Cosentyx samples to start, Novartis was sending me samples at no charge said they would work with my insurance to get it approved, no problem they said if your insurance doesn't cover it you will be covered through us for 2 years. Go ahead and start they said, now that my insurance has declined it twice they want me to sign away all of my Federal Privacy Laws pertaining to my private health information or they will not send me anymore samples. I have 10 biologic shots in me at this time- how do you switch now?!"

I don’t want to go back to methotrexate!"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Plaque Psoriasis "I have been on Cosentyx for 1 year. I view it as a miracle drug. Best yet. Most everything cleared up. I know have some coming back on my lower legs which is depressing because I would like to be in shorts all the time. I recently just had an infection in my leg that may have been related. I met with my doctor and I have decided to try Taltz for total clearance. Taltz reviews are an 8 while reviews here are a 9.2. I hope I made the right choice."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) for Psoriatic Arthritis "I had a major reaction to cosentyx. I was in the hospital for four days after the third injection. I ended up with a large hive on my upper leg that took three weeks to go away. I had a fever over 104 degrees and an infection. My white count was off the charts my inflammatory markers were 20. One to two is normal. I had to have intravenous antibiotics because I couldn’t keep anything down. No one wanted to believe it was the meds until skin biopsy came back. The pathologist sent it for second opinion and it came back as hive. The cause on the lab work was medication. My first sign something was up is that it caused me to break out with psoriasis."

Even after a tonsillectomy which was horrible and never healed right , I feel like garbage !"
