WARNINGS

● Treated fish must not be slaughtered for use in food for at least 5 days after the latest treatment with this drug when used at water temperatures of 10°C or greater.

● Wear impervious gloves when handling SYNCAINE solutions.

● Keep out of reach of children.

Indications: For anesthesia or sedation of salmonids.

Dosage and Administration:

Use only plastic or glass containers for SYNCAINE solutions. Dissolve 40 - 50 mg of SYNCAINE Powder per litre of water. Immerse fish until desired depth of sedation or anaesthesia is reached.

The maximum exposure time is 30 minutes.

Immerse fish in clean water until recovery is complete. For best results use freshly made SYNCAINE solutions.

Cautions:

Use at water temperatures of 10°C or greater.

Fish should not be fed for 48 hours prior to anaesthetization.

Avoid excessive handling and overcrowding during and around the time of anaesthesia.

Always test dose and response with a small group of fish first.

Maintain adequate oxygenation and acidity of solutions and change SYNCAINE solution frequently. Buffering with sodium bicarbonate may be required.

Avoid exposure of SYNCAINE solutions to UV light as this may cause the SYNCAINE solutions to become toxic to the fish.

Keep SYNCAINE solutions away from eggs and milt.

Storage:

Store at room temperature (15°C to 30°C), in a cool dry place.

Keep container tightly closed.

Disposal:

Dispose of content/containers to a suitable treatment site in accordance with local/regional/national/international regulations.
